Glen Manor is exquisite in every way! Love the passion that the winemaker, wife and other staff show when you taste their wines... so proud of the wine and how it represents the season and land and love put into them.... the wines are excellent for the vintages I've experiences and the gardens are gorgeous, too. The vineyards on the far-off slope are a wonderful view as well. Go THERE!

About Winery and Wines

Glen Manor Vineyards is located in Virginia approximately 70 miles west of Washington D.C., situated on a western flank of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The surrounding mountains, ranging between 1400 and 3400 feet in elevation, form a “Glen” which gives the vineyards a unique environment: A world of its own. The vines grow high on very steep mountain slopes characterized by deep, well-draining, and rocky soils.

The original six acre vineyard was established in 1995. Here, we grow Sauvignon Blanc and four red Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Resting between 1000 and 1200 feet in elevation with the valley floor below at 800 feet, this mainly western exposed vineyard site’s soils are deep and well drained, with low to moderate water-holding capacity. These soils are comprised of Myersville-Catoctin Complex, Chester Manor, and Chester loam, with formed-in weathered products of green schist, granodiorite and greenstone.
