About Winery and Wines

Browns Of Padthaway wines reflect the companies enthusiasm for quality and the geography of the Limestone Coast. The wines have a distinct taste that typifies the cool climate wine region. The family has been established in Padthaway for more than 40 years and has the oldest Chardonnay vines in the region. Other varieties planted include Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The region is characterized by its Terra Rossa soil, soft artesian water and a mediterranean climate. Founders Donald and Glenda Brown settled on their Glendon Park property in 1959 and planted their first vines in 1970. Now owned and operated by daughter Susanne Brown and her husband Michael Schreier, Glendon Park includes 140 ha of Vineyard producing their own labels Browns Of Padthaway and Glendon Park. Browns Of Padthaway range of wine styles is a result of geography, climate and winemaking enthusiasm.
