The wine was very good. It was very crowded but the service was excellent. Ryan, our server, was very good. I highly recommend the asiago artichoke Dip. It comes in a bread bowl with chips. The Dip and the bread was awesome!!

Plenty of choices from dry to sweet to ice wine. Great indoor atmosphere and outdoor patio for the warmer weather. Ice wine festival in the late winter is extraordinary. Also love their dessert port wine! Also have two types of flights: dry to semi-dry and semi-sweet to sweet. Flights are priced pretty well. Decent food selection too from Brie plate to burgers. First stop on our personal wine tour when we come out here a few times a year. Never a disappointment!

I was kind of disappointed when we made reservations for dinner, they seated us outside and it was chilly. When we asked for any available tables inside we were told no. Yet the table next to us got up and moved inside no problem. The food is ok, the desserts are better. I recommend the flour less chocolate cake, literally a slice of heaven in your mouth, assuming you like chocolate.

About Winery and Wines

Madison Wine Cellars, Inc. is comprised of some well known faces and names in the Ohio wine industry. The group is comprised of two families that have worked closely together for years. Tony Debevc, owner of Debonne Vineyards-Ohio’s largest estate winery, will be in charge of wine production. Cindy Lindberg, event coordinator at Debonne and former school psychologist with the Mayfield City School District, will be in charge of the day to day operations of the winery. Grand River Cellars was first established in 1976 known at that time as the Grand River Wine Company. During its first few years the focus was on wine production and the growing of quality vinifera grapes. The initial winery opened to the public in 1978 and grew in popularity over the next 20 years. The owners, Bill & Carol Worthy, decided to sell the winery in 1998. In August of 2005, Madison Wine Cellars, Inc. purchased the winery from the former owners and began to develop what is now called Grand River Cellars. Inside the new Grand River Cellars you will be welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere that includes a beautiful fireplace, many hand painted murals, and a large bar area for friends to gather. The winery offers a large variety of appetizers, grilled sandwiches, and a well-rounded dinner menu.
