We started our Wine tour here first thing in the morning. Ken was helpful and pleasant and got us started on our journey by giving great recommendations for our next stops.

When we come back we will sure to always stop by here.

The best winery in Palisade! We've been...

The best winery in Palisade! We've been going to Hermosa for years, and have even held events there. Some highlights have been the Cabernet Sauvignon, late harvest Gewurztraminer, Viogner, and Merlot to name a few.

The drive out to Hermosa alone is worth the trip but from the time you arrive to when you leave your treated to authentic hospitality and great wines. Ken's place is relaxing and cozy, just the right setting for a small winery. The wines at Hermosa are a step above other wineries in the area, whites/reds/dessert alike. Ken is always coming up with new, amazing wines and we can't wait to stop by next time.

If you're looking for delicious wines in a unique, amazing setting then stop here. Even if you're not, stop at Hermosa anyway!

My husband and I stopped by Hermosa...

My husband and I stopped by Hermosa on our wine trip this past weekend and this was our favorite! Ken is a one-man operation and his wine is wonderful. He has bold reds, crisp whites, and our favorite was the rose! He is very knowledgeable and answers any questions you have with passion and detail. By far, our favorite stop! We can't wait to visit him again.

This is a fantastic winery! The wife and I have been to most of the Palisade wineries and had not found more than one or two places offering bold/big reds that we like, but Hermosa really delivered. Ken is really passionate about his wines and was very personable, too. The '12 Cabernet is great and the '13 Syrah is wonderful, as well. Hermosa is a place we'll return to every time we're in the Palisade area.

About Winery and Wines

The Grand Valley AVA, an oasis in the desert, is the heart of Colorado's wine country. Hot sunlight-drenched days, cool nights, with water from the snow capped peaks of the upper Colorado River Basin to irrigate some of the highest vineyards and orchards in the world, we continue to grow some of the finest fruit available. The farm was purchased in 1993. It was an apple orchard at the time. As picking cost for the apples exceeded the value of the apples, a lot of apple firewood was sold. In 1994, 15 different varieties of sweet cherries and 17 different grape varieties were planted. In 2001 a commercial winery was liscensed, another vineyard site was purchased in 2005, it was planted in 2006, and a tasting room was added in 2011. I'm not finished yet...

Hermosa Vineyards is dedicated to hand crafting the finest wine from grapes grown in the high mountain desert of western Colorado. All of the wines are produced in very limited quantities. The goal is not to be one of the biggest wineries but rather one of the best. With some excellent Palisade wineries, we are in very good company.
