We had the pleasure of meeting 5th generation winemaker, Guiseppe Sala, at this estate in August 2016. This winery will be off the beaten track for many wine-loving explorers, but it is worth the drive. Guiseppe welcomed us warmly and didn't hesitate to open an array of wines from his recent releases. This wine is exceptional. The Chianti an excellent example of what a Chianti should be - and often isn't - and his super Tuscan is sublime. We bought 1 Chianti and 2 super Tuscans to bring home to Australia and a case of super Tuscan to be sent. You'll also enjoy looking over the photos on the wall and hearing Guiseppe's stories of famous encounters and global adventures. Just excellent.

About Winery and Wines

The I Selvatici Winery sits atop a hillside with the gentle slopes of our vineyards as the backdrop. Here is where we await our guests. Our spacious tasting room, with typical Tuscan decor, is right next to the winery and within walking distance of our vineyards. When you visit, you will discover the history of our estate and the storied past of each of our wines. During your time with us, you will be introduced to our work from vineyard to bottle, all of which we do right here at I Selvatici. At our tastings, each wine is presented with small samples of products typical to the peasant cuisine of Tuscany. Giuseppe will be your host for your tasting, and he will share some of the special stories of his family and of the Chianti wine production craft. You will have the opportunity to stroll into the vineyards to learn more about the vineyard cultivation and steps in the wine production processes. We believe you will discover i Selvatici as an authentic experience because of the intimate connection between Giuseppe, his family and the land from which I Selvatici wines have been produced for a half a century.
