About Winery and Wines

Joostenberg is a 5th generation family business situated in the Muldersvlei district of Stellenbosch. We have always practiced traditional mixed farming but have expanded over the years. Ventures now include our deli, pork specialist butchery, bistro and events venue, organic vineyard farming and boutique wine production, a small herd of grass fed free range cattle reared for beef, seasonal cut flowers, herbs and vegetables. We believe in producing and sourcing great quality, authentic products and supplying them directly to the public, right here on our farm. There are two parts to the business. Joostenberg is the working farm comprising of our vineyards, boutique winery, flowers, herbs and vegetables as well as the free range cattle herd.

We farm on two adjacent farms situated in the southwest corner of the Paarl wine appellation. This area is traditionally known as Muldersvlei, and the boundary between the Paarl and Stellenbosch appellations passes through it. The Stellenbosch side of the boundary (closer to the Simonsberg Mountains) is home to many well-known wineries such as Kanonkop, Warwick and La Bonheur. The Paarl side is lesser known, with many of these farms still practicing mixed farming.
