You can taste wine and beer and order a cheese platter to go with that. The wine tasting costs 30 rand for 5 different wines. P small glasses but not too small. You can choose out of 5 different combinations such as red, wine, mixed or combine your own choices. The cheese platter was 95 rand and was enough for the four of us as a little snack. When ordering the platter for 2 persons consider it more as a small lunch

nice surroundings and excellent wines

Geen goede uitleg. Wel lekkere wijn. Geen tapas gezien op de kaart. Mooi uitzicht en voor de rest lekker eten.

About Winery and Wines

Karusa is a family operated and managed wine and fruit farm. Karusa is run by family business partners Jacques Conradie (Winemaker/ marketing), Saretha Conradie (PRO), Theo Landman (Estate Manager) and property owner Johann Landman (Business Consultant). Karusa is situated at the foothills of the majestic Swartberg in the tranquil and scenic Cango Valley in Schoemanshoek, close to Oudtshoorn. The farm is en-route to the world-famous Cango Caves. The original farm, Vogelsang, was bought in 2004. A total soil and climate research project was undertaken to give a better understanding of the terroir of the farm. We used this information to make decisions on the planting of cultivars and clonal selections best suited to the area as well as streamlining existing orchard management. Karusa is the first and only Premium Private winery in Oudtshoorn.

At Karusa we believe that what we do in the vineyard is directly reflected in our wines. Winemaking in itself is purely a process of guidance ~ an artistic craft to turn the fruit of the earth into liquid art. Our wines reflect purity, brought on by our minimal interventionist methods, resulting in characterful wines with a sense of origin displaying and reflecting the diversity of the Klein Karoo.
