About Winery and Wines

Le Manoir de Brendel is a family-owned estate where all grapes are harvested by hand. Situated in Franschhoek, the heart of the Cape Winelands.

Our Brendel range stands for attention to detail according to centuries old tradition of winemaking. Our red wines undergo a first fermentation in the tank, followed by a second fermentation in barrels and are finally matured on oak for 16 to 19 months

In this mild and sunny climate in the shadow of the mountains, we grow grape varieties of Shiraz, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Semmilon and Chardonnay.

Chenin Blanc 2022 - Tropical aromas such as pineapple, peach, melon and lemon on the nose. The palate is fresh with a linear acidity with an enduring refreshing crisp finish. A light easy drinking wine for everyday enjoyment that can be paired with salads, fish, and white meat dishes. Best enjoyed when chilled.

Shiraz – International Wine Awards Michelangelo 2011 – Gold MedalA dense ruby wine exhibiting a nose of dark chocolate, leather spice and caramel. The palate is full and rich with a well structured fruit and acid balance. Extended skin contact and ageing in small French oak barriques have contributed added complexity and vanilla characters. With sheer fruit intensity and ample structure this wine has aged well. A worthy winner.

Cabernet Sauvignon – International Wine Awards Michelangelo 2011 – Silver Medal  - Layers of vanilla, cocoa and oak tannins provide the necessary framework for ripe full fruit flavours of plum and blackberry. Complex and long, this Cabernet Sauvignon has depth and power and will reward further bottle ageing under cellar conditions.
