About Winery and Wines

Our vines are grown on a steep north facing river terrace underlain by very free draining soils. All vines are on their own roots. We practice bunch thinning at verasion to keep yields to optimum for the vines. A crucial job in such a cool climate. This results in concentration of flavours and an optimum level of ripeness. Spring frosts pose a considerable risk to us and part of the vineyard is frost protected by overhead sprinklers. We practice sustainable viticulture with low levels of fungicide and herbicide. No insecticides are applied and we completely net the vineyard from birds in autumn. Uncompromising quality control in the vineyard is seen as vital to the overall quality of the final wine.
