It was founded in 1944, in Sion, in the heart of the «Wine Valley»,by Charles Favre, a man who liked a challenge and who created his firm with the support of his three sons. Then, René-Pierre, who managed the business, died suddenly in 1960, in the prime of his life. His wife Hanny took up the reins in magisterial manner. The first Valaisan woman to be accepted into the Union of Wine Merchants, this Grand Lady truly made her mark on wine growing and wine producers. A member of the Committee of the International Wine Academy, named «Personality of the Year» in the field of oenology in 1988 by a foreign Jury, she has explained her secret in the following terms: «We have succeeded because we have always wanted the best». When her son Jean-Pierre succeeded her, he adopted this slogan as his main aim. It is hardly surprising that this leader in Swiss wine production continues to win medals and prizes with its Fendant, Johannisberg, Petite Arvine, Marsanne blanche, Pinot gris, Muscat, Dôle blanche, Œil de Perdrix, Dôle, Pinot noir and so on. The registered trademarks «Dame de Sion» and «Hurlevent», the jewels of the production, are the unanimously appreciated ambassadors from the «La Petite Maison Des Grands Vins» . Crowning this brilliant quality, and star of its production, is the famous F Collection : «F» for Favre of course, but also Flower, Finesse, Favour or Female...
