I love the Llano Sweet Red Wine. I was in Texas for work and fell in love with this wine. I wish I could get it on Amazon to order by the case so I never have to run out. I would love to try other wines from here but it made it so much nicer when I worked in Texas for a few months.

Llano is probably the the most popular (and award winning) Texas wine outside of the state. Around 70% of Texas grapes come from West Texas. Llano was the first to start a winery in this region when most doubted that it could be done. The founder is a Texas Tech alum, and Llano also has the Red Raider wines sold by the Texas Tech Alumni Association. Although the winery is small it's a good (and cheap) way to spend an afternoon. The tour is free and afterwards there is complimentary selection of 10 wines for tasting. However, if you want to taste their more premier wines you have to $5-10. Another side note, McPherson winery in the Depot District is owned by the son of Llano Estacado winery.
