Love this place! I'm local, and this is a go to for my wife and I. Can't speak to the actual wine (more of a scotch guy) but the cafe is fantastic, and as a venue it looks awesome. They have seriously the best pie, possibly in the world (sorry grandma). Staff are super friendly, and tons of parking.

We love this place. Great to take the whole family to. My favorite waitress is Marina, she is very attentive and has a great attitude. The food always tastes good and has good presentation. This is our #1 choice in town.

I visited this winery with my husband after driving around Lodi for a little bit. We were impressed that we recognized this wine from across the country where we were from. The Freakshow is my favorite and I was able to taste this and join their wine club. It's a cute little tasting room with a grocery store and restaurant inside.

Where do I even start? I came...

Where do I even start? I came here for my 22nd birthday and was treated with the absolute best service, food, and wine! The staff here made the experience a once in a lifetime tasting and tour. I would definitely tell others to come here for their trip to Lodi, California (Little Napa Valley) and taste the absolutely exquisite Zins from Michael David Winery. Thank you James and other staff for making my birthday one to remember. 5/5!

About Winery and Wines

The Phillips family has been farming since our Great Great Grandfather Andrew Harshner and his wife Lucille homesteaded 160 acres near the town of Lodi, following the Civil War in the 1860s. The region’s natural affinity for grape growing quickly became evident, and by the turn of the century (the last one), twenty-five percent of California’s grape acreage was in Lodi. A generation later saw the demise of many pioneering wineries in the state. Originally devoted to vegetables, the Phillips’ farms evolved to include many different fruits, including fifteen different wine varietals that were shipped throughout the country during Prohibition with instructions on “how not to have the grapes turn into wine”. Thereby, Prohibition was good for Lodi growers, with families everywhere keeping up the tradition of wine with meals by ordering these grapes and “juice” to be bottled at home.
