A well rounded winery that sets itself apart with more than just great wine, but world class food, beautiful grounds, and third-party entertainment par excellence.

Beautiful ambiance for a nice, lunch and glass of wine. I wouldn't recommend their Moscato...it's a lil more like a Chardonnay than a Moscato. Service was great, food was as well. If you're looking for a winery and can't decide which to go to I'd definitely put this one on your

Love the atmosphere and outdoor setup here. Their meritage is worth buying a case of. We've been members for a little over a year and will keep it rolling for sure. We started with a 50/50 red/white membership but have since adjusted that to reds only. Their whites are good but the reds are why we go back. Also dig their rose, and their sangria is top-shelf with a splash of bubbly on top, available in red or white -- perfect refresher on a hot day.

About Winery and Wines

The statement "Winemaking begins in the vineyard," is a cliche to some, but a guiding principle at Mount Palomar. Our estate vineyards are held to a high standard. From vineyard to winemaking, it is our goal to shepherd the grapes and wine through the winemaking process, all the while protecting them from extreme conditions caused by weather or harsh processing methods. We believe that wines should reflect a sense of harmony, presenting the taster with an array of sensations that are pleasing, yet complex. Wines like this match gracefully with food, and are a source of pleasure over numerous meals and tastings. Although Mount Palomar has won "Best of Show" awards in several major wine competitions, in recent years our direction has been less concerned with medals and more concerned with strengthening the wine styles favored by former Winemaker, Etienne Cowper; that is, wines which are true to type, complex and interesting in flavor, with their various elements in balance, ending in a long, smooth finish. We maintain those standards by putting our viticulture and winemaking in the hands of talented and experienced workers. We then test those standards before bottling by subjecting our wines, to honest, blind tasting comparison with fine wines from the rest of the world.
