PistaWines – Alter do Chão, Alto Alentejo

Nestled in the hills of Alter do Chão (Portalegre, ~400 m altitude), PistaWines is a small, vineyard-driven project crafting elegant, terroir-expressive wines under the Tapada da Fonte label. Our enotourism is hands-on: guided walks among the vines, the story of our project from origin to future, and curated tastings in our tasting room. Sustainability is part of the experience—permanent cover crop and sheep grazing foster biodiversity and natural balance. Visits available in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Tapada da Fonte – Our Wines

Small-batch, vineyard-led wines shaped by the altitude and breezes of Alter do Chão (Portalegre). The style is elegant, dry and gastronomic, with freshness and fine texture at the core.

Whites: Branco (Arinto, Alvarinho, Verdelho) – bright, citrus-mineral; Reserva Branco – layered, subtly oaked, long finish.

Rosé: Salmon-hued, dry and vibrant, red-fruit lift and clean acidity.

Reds: Tinto (Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Petit Verdot) – dark fruit, spice, polished tannins; Reserva Tinto (Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet) – depth, finesse and ageing potential.

Single-varietals: Arinto (saline, electric), Touriga Nacional (floral, precise, long), Syrah (peppery, unoaked purity).
