About Winery and Wines

From 1932 to our days Quinta do Judeu has belonged to Alves de Carvalho family and its name is due to the existence of a roman Jewish statue on its roof. Quinta do Judeu has been recently recovered and now it is a center of excellence in winemaking, combining traditional practices, such as grape treading in granite tanks (lagares), with the latest technology available for the development of extremely high quality wines. We believe the world becomes better when we look for inspiration, poetry and beauty in every single detail of life. Get inspired by our wines and vineyards and marvel at the aromas, flavours and sights. Welcome to a world of inspiration! Welcome to Douro!

Quinta do Judeu owns 3 estates in Douro Valley with a total of 27 hectares of traditional and mechanized vineyards, only with native Douro grape varieties. In Cima Corgo sub-region we have Quinta do Judeu Canelas and Quinta do Judeu Covelinhas and in Baixo Corgo sub-region the Quinta do Judeu Corgo. The vineyards, with an age between 5 and 85 years old, have the following varieties identified: Red (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Amarela, Sousão and Tinta Francisca) and White (Malvasia Fina, Rabigato, Viosinho, Gouveio, Arinto and Cercial).
