About Winery and Wines

Located in the Lisbon region and owned by José Bento dos Santos, vice-president of the International Academy of Gastronomy, the Quinta do Monte d'Oiro has been known since the 17th century as a privileged terroir for the production of great wines (clay-limestone soils from the Upper Jurassic period, gentle slopes with different inclinations and exposure to the sun, a Mediterranean climate with Atlantic influence and constant wind blowing).

The vines that are best adapted to the soil and climate conditions of the Quinta (the red Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz, and the white Viognier, Marsanne and Arinto) have been planted, and viticulture is carried out in the manner of certified organic production to enhance the expression of the existing terroir and promote biodiversity. In the cellar, gentle methods are used to promote the elegance of the wines. Since the first harvest, QMdO wines have received the highest critical and public acclaim, being present in important international markets and on the wine lists of some of the world's most famous restaurants.
