A character made in the image of our founder, Amadeu Abílio Lopes. In the mid-20th century, he moved to Brazil and, as a result of his unbreakable spirit, established himself as a leading industrialist. A success that never diminished his desire to return.

He returned and envisioned the same horizons for his land that he had challenged. He challenged other sons of Melgaço: to take the Alvarinho that is made here to the world.

The Quintas de Melgaço society was born, bringing together hundreds of small and medium-sized wine producers around a greater good: their wine. United, in a single movement, to promote the potential of the region's wines and the Alvarinho grape variety.
