About Winery and Wines

Flowing from the Italian Alps that surround our winery, the Adige River has carved a sunny alpine valley, prized for its hillside vineyards. In this pristine environment Mezzacorona and Rotari have been crafting Estate Grown wines of elegance, harmony and balance since 1904. A guided tour to Rotari and Mezzacorona Wineries is an unique experience, a scenic walk-through among wine barrels and barriques in a charming enviroment, perfectly fit into the stunning landscape of the Piana Rotaliana, in the heart of Trentino and the Dolomite mountains. Our state-of-the-art winery has been built in close harmony with its surrounding environment. The ondulating roof design is reminiscent of the ondulating terraces where our vintners grow up Trentino pergolas. Now known as "Cittadella del Vino"(Citadel of wine) this was originally a project of environmental requalification and the reclaiming of this land has greatly enhanced the value of an important area of the Rotaliana Plain. A work of contemporary architecture amongst vineyards where the most modern technology meets environmental sustainability.

At the foot of the Dolomites, our grapes benefit from the alpine climate, which designs the balanced bouquet and the aromatic intensity of ROTARI and MEZZACORONA wines. ROTARI produces complex, elegant and refined sparkling wines boasting fragrances unique to the area. Rotari follows the ancient and sophisticated production technique of the Metodo Classico guaranteed by the Trentodoc seal. Cultivated using the traditional pergola style, MEZZACORONA grapes are entirely hand harvested at optimum ripeness to enhance perfectly the tipicity of the varietals: among all the crisp and fresh Pinot Grigio and Teroldego, the most famous red wine known as the "prince of Trentino wines.
