Beautiful lunch sitting in the courtyard. Had satay chicken, salt & pepper squid (with tasty spicy sauce) and bruschetta (3 varieties). All dishes were delicious. Very relaxed and kid friendly as well

About Winery and Wines

The King Valley has a reputation as an exceptional region for producing wines of high quality and it is home to passionate winemakers with fresh ideas. Sam was so enamored with the potential of the region and the quality of the fruit that he purchased a 70 hectare property on the corner of Snow and King Valley Roads in 1997. The following year in 1998, Sam Miranda’s long held ambition became a reality when construction commenced on Sam Miranda’s very own winery and Cellar Door. Today Sam Miranda’s winery and vineyard stands tall in the heart of the Milawa food and wine gourmet region and on the way to the snow fields of Bright, Falls Creek and Mount Hotham. In 2003 Sam moved on from the family business in Griffith and moved permanently to the King Valley. It was at this time Sam took on full ownership of the property just prior to the 2004 vintage and has been making his own style of King Valley wines since then. In November 2004 Sam expanded his part of the King Valley and purchased a 120 hectare property in the Myrrhee district which currently has 12 hectares under vine. Not only is this a rich and productive property, it also offers magnificent views over the surrounding mountains, a nice way to work while Sam sits on his tractor some 4oo metres above sea level.
