Yes, online ratings can provide an idea of what you might expect. They can also keep you from enjoying new experiences. It's wrong when people post ratings and have not even been to the location. And even worse when people use those comments to make decisions.
We've been there numerous times when the winery was busy, new customers had many questions, and were politely and patiently taken care of. The San Martino team care about your getting to know and enjoy wine.

First off, who writes a bad review...
We've been to San Martino many times. My only regret is that we didn't find it sooner. It's a perfect date night spot. The property is beautiful. There is lots of comfortable seating outdoors, including two covered patios. We love taking some food out there and enjoying their wine while sitting out on the patio. The staff is excellent. They make us feel right at home and greet us the minute we walk in. It's a quiet place where you can relax after a long work week.
We enjoy their reds, including the Tempranillo and the Alacante. It's best to do a tasting at the tasting area first to decide what you are in the mood for and depending on what food you have brought with you.
Their special events are a lot of fun. We had a paella dinner one time that was absolutely delicious.
San Martino is one of our favorite little gems in the area and I encourage people to try for themselves.

About Winery and Wines
We are a small, family-owned winery specializing in handcrafted wines using modern techniques but with a traditional “soul” borne in the legacy of a winemaking family that has crafted wonderful wines for over 600 years in northern Spain. Perseverance, hard work, vision, and passion are the elements that created San Martiño Winery & Vineyards in 2003 in North Texas, just outside of the city of Rockwall. Our first grapes arrived mid-September 2003 and all had to be processed by hand in a yet unfinished building since our initial equipment had not arrived from Italy. Working in 10 hrs shifts and with the help of some friends, the first harvest of San Martiño Winery & Vineyards was completed by the start of the Fall season for a total production of 430 cases. Today the winery produces approximately 5,000 cases of wine using state of the art equipment. What took 28 hrs to process in 2003, takes now only a hand-full of hours. However, just like the first harvest, our family along with good friends continues to de-stem, crush and process grapes from Texas each fall and make the result of this monumental effort available for all to taste and enjoy.
