About Winery and Wines

In the heart of the Sienese countryside, nastled among the hilly vineyards and olive groves near the ancient town of Castellina in Chianti, lies Sant'Agnese Farm that takes the name from the nearby nature reserve "Bosco Sant'Agnese". Once Sant'Agnese Farm, today famous winery in Tuscany, was a rest area for weary travelers on the road from Florence to Siena and the property of the wineries Sant'Agnese and Casanova both date back to the year 1000 Ad, when they belonged to religious order. Sant'Agnese and Casanova underwent their greatest change around three hundred years ago, when the properties were bought by families whose descendants are still whit us today. The vineyards and the olive groves, located in Chianti Classico landscape, yield today, as they have done for over thousand years, produce fine wine and extra virgin olive oil of hight quality. Our wine have a important history, the Magnificat, for example, was praised by the Pope during a visit in Sant'Agnese Farm, in the eighteenth century, and Medioevum, whose history can be traced back to the year 1200 Ad. In Sant'Agnese winery we offers you a beautiful winery tour in the heart of Tuscany, you will discover the secrets of our wines and you will taste our unique balsamic vinegards, olive oils, honey and truffle.
