My Mom, fiance' and I drove out...

My Mom, fiance' and I drove out to Spout Springs to check out this winery as a potential wedding venue, and to, of course, taste the wine. First of all, let me say that the initial approach from the interstate can be a bit scary, as it gets down to a one land road and it can be STEEP! However, my sedan made it just fine, no 4 wheel drive needed. Also, the Google Maps GPS can lead you slightly astray, but just watch for signage and you'll be fine. And then, you see the winery at the top of the hill!
And once you arrive...it was utterly breathtaking. We all started giggling in the car because it was so beautiful! Granted, it was a lovely summer day, but even the worst weather could not mar the beauty of this estate. We met Alice, who gave us a lovely informal tasting of 5 wines (Free), and we bought 3 bottles. The Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, and a lovely semi-dry Reisling. About Winery and Wines

The mission of the Winery and Vineyard is to grow the highest quality vinifera wine grapes in the state of Tennessee for use in our winery and for sale to local wineries and individuals interested in wine making. Assistance can be provided in crushing and pressing fruit. We currently grow Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sangiovese, Stuben, and Two Varietals of Muscadine. We will be expanding our vinifera selections to include Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and others. We also have Blueberries, Blackberries, and Japanese Wineberries which we used to make some very nice wines. Beginning in July of 2015 we began operation as a fully bonded winery and are working to expand our current wine offerings. In the interim, we plan to develop a vineyard and wine club where members will be able to follow the development of the winery and participate in the growth of the vineyard and winery. Special events will be planned for members only to include vineyard tours, wine tastings, and wine making classes. Details for membership will be forthcoming. We look forward to your support and comments and ideas in developing this organization and events.
