About Winery and Wines

Starting from Valdobbiadene and following the descent, contoured by the banks of the river Piave, one arrives in the charming town of Vidor where the headquarters of the Dal Din Company is located. The business was founded in 1960 by Giuseppe Dal Din, head of the family and an impassioned winegrower, with his wife Lena. Subsequently their daughter Norma, "La Donna del Vino" and administrator worked in close collaboration with her husband Riccardo who took over the entire production chain from cultivating the vines to vinification and the Spumante fermentation process, availing himself of the very best wine making tradition. Between 2010 and 2011 unfortunately a serious illness robbed the Dal Din business of two emblematic and important figures: Riccardo and Lena. Since that time the business has been run by Norma and her daughter Alessandra. From the vineyards of the Dal Din family, located in the heart of such a generous territory, come the prized grapes of Valdobbiadene Prosecco superiore D.O.C.G. which we use to make our wines. This wine is the result of persistent hard work which over the years has fused experience, technology and professional expertise with the passion and love for an art which is as ancient as it is modern, so that today we can offer our customers a production of quality and prestige. At the current time there are 10 hectares planted with proprietary vines and this has allowed us to diversify and identify the different Crus of the area according to the geological conformation. On the strength of this legacy, not only material but historical and cultural too, the Dal Din family has established itself on the International winegrowing scene with its own wines as well as actively promoting the image of Prosecco and Italian Spumante.

The Pedemontana Trevigiana area, and in particular the range of hills that run from Valdobbiadene to Conegliano, have for centuries showcased their nobility in the careful geometry of the vines that gently grace the slopes. This is a good land that owes its physical conformation to the ancient Piave Glacier which came down in primordial times from the Dolomites, as the soil absorbed the wealth of precious substances, the very substances that it now generously gives back to the Prosecco vines. These hills, with altitudes ranging from 50 to 500 metres above sea level that emerged during the tertiary age are predominantly made up of marl, accompanied by sandstone and rock typical of the sea bed with one of the most suitable chemical physical compositions able to endow the grapes with their characteristic aromas and flavour, accentuated by strong temperature excursions which, by promoting correct maturation, has made Prosecco the most popular Italian Spumante in the world.
