About Winery and Wines

It all began in 1987 when Steve met Monique after Steve returned from France from interning in Champagne and decided that he really wanted to make sparkling wine in the coolest region of Australia. They began to map a future but their only real option was to move to Tasmania. There were already grapes planted in Tasmania and they could see the potential for greatness. In 1990 they they found the perfect property, took a risk and put all their cash on the line plus worked hard. Super happy and nearly 30 years later they have weathered the good and the bad and have achieved so much with many helping hands. The 25Ha vineyard was converted to Biodynamics in 2010 with certification achieved in 2013. Biodynamics provides protection for their environment, employees and customers from chemicals, and as a bonus it makes a better wine.
