Talleri Berria
About Winery and Wines
In 2011, a group of txakoli enthusiasts decided to set up a winery in the municipality of Morga (Basque Country - Spain). We had a romantic vision of wine, which led us to set ourselves the goal of producing a superior quality product, while respecting and sharing the environment around us. That was how our first txakoli was born: Bitxia (‘jewel’ in the Basque language). Today, we have six brands on the market: Bitxia Berria, Gure Aberria, KAberri, Munarri, TX Berria, and Gure Natura.
The building also sets us apart. If we wanted to stay true to our romantic vision of wine, we had to have a winery that blended in with its surroundings. We decided to build an unassuming building, where the most important things were light and the possibility of enjoying nature even from inside. And so, we created this corner of txakoli.
The curves of the roof are reminiscent of the sinuous nature of our land, with valleys and streams winding through the fields. It also symbolises the concave tile, the product that was once manufactured in this very place. In fact, our name, Talleri, comes from the Basque term for ‘the factory where tiles were made’.
When you come to visit the winery, we will guide you through the entire wine-making process, from the arrival of the grapes after the harvest to the bottling, labelling and final packaging. After the visit, weather permitting, you can enjoy the large terrace located under the eaves of the roof, with views of the mountains and our vineyards. There you can taste our txakolis and other culinary delights.
Our winery is open to visitors throughout the year. We regularly organise various activities and events.
Follow us on Instagram (@bodegatalleri). We will be posting the activities there.
The Talleri Berria vineyards are located between the municipalities of Lezama, Larrabetzu, Morga and Muxika, in the highest areas, at altitudes ranging from 25 to 300 metres. We use traditional techniques to bring out the most Atlantic characteristics of our vineyards, where the Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratia variety plays an important role. This variety produces fruit of extraordinary quality and is complemented by others such as Hondarrabi Zuri, Riesling and Hondarrabi Beltza. The result is fresh and lively txakolis.
We have six brands on the market: Bitxia Berria, Gure Aberria, KAberri, TX Berria, Gure Natura and Munarri.
