About Winery and Wines

Chapel Down produces a world-class range of sparkling and still wines, together with the award-winning range of Curious beers & cider. Our sparkling wines are created using the Traditional Method, the same as Champagne, from fruit sourced from our own and partner vineyards across the South-East of England. We are proud to supply British icons such as Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver, and you can enjoy our drinks at great institutions such as the Royal Opera House, The Donmar Warehouse and the Turner Contemporary all of which we support. We are also an official supplier to No 10 Downing Street and are the first English wine producer to ever feature in the London Stock Exchange's '1000 Companies to Inspire Britain 2016' and the directory of 'Cool Brands™ 2015/16'. All of which is rather humbling.

The south-east coast of England is synonymous with the white cliffs of Dover. It is this iconic chalk soil, the same as that of Champagne – just 90 miles to the south, coupled with our cool climate that enables us to produce truly world-class sparkling wines, as well as aromatic white wines and elegant light red wines from grapes such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Bacchus. We believe the future is bright for a young industry without the baggage of tradition and heritage and with its eye firmly on the needs of today's consumer. At Chapel Down, we own over 100 acres of vineyards across Kent, where we believe the finest overall conditions for grape growing exists in England. However, we also source our fruit from a wider geographic area – from Essex to Hampshire - to ensure we maintain consistency and that the risks of crop failure through frost, unusual weather events and climate are therefore reduced.
