Mr. Vern was very nice and informative; he came over to explain the varieties of wines and which ones we would enjoy the most it was something that he didn't have to do, I'm glad he did. I absolutely enjoyed my experience there, but it was a more memorable experience with the friendliness of the staff and the owner (Mr. Vern).
Thank you again Mr. Vern and staff for such a great experience.

Yes! This place gets it!
No pretense.
No forced sales.
The nicest staff in their tasting room.
Also the nicest crackers in their tasting room (that was a meal, guys, thanks, I probably owe you another $15 for the volume of crackers I ate.)
Oh. Wines? Yeap. Extremely tasty wines.
Lovely grounds to wander about. You can even poke your nose inside the door where their workshop and some of the barrels are. I love utilitarian spaces; theirs portrays a story of being really cherished and oft-used. Dad's workshop. Community. All that country-life fuzzy.
Go!

About Winery and Wines

he beautiful Toulouse Vineyard is located in the heart of Anderson Valley along Highway 128 in Philo, 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean and two hours north of the Golden Gate Bridge. The vineyard elevation ranges from 300 to 500 feet. Gravelly Pinole soil facilitates deep-seeking roots and excellent drainage. The climate and daily weather patterns are ideal for Pinot Noir. Summer temperatures can reach the high 90's but afternoon ocean breezes and occasional fog cool the valley and refresh the fruit with nightly lows in the 50's creating the perfect sugar/acid balance in the grapes. The vineyard is vertically trellised on 6' x 8' spacing and planted with Dijon Clones 115, 667, 777, the Wadensville 2A, and our more recently planted Pommard Clone.
