About Winery and Wines

Weaver Estate Wines vineyard and winery is family owned and run, in the Alexandra Basin, Central Otago. We are striving to produce high quality, hand crafted wines that relect our unique location a stones throw from the Clutha River. It is this location on the Clutha River that first saw our ancestors arrive in the area back in 1864 following the Gold Rush. The Weaver family had a number of dredges along this river between Alexandra & Clyde. The Weaver family is now into the sixth generation, living in the area. As well as the vineyard and winery, there is also our Cellar Door - open to the public for tastings and tours. Along with two guest cottages situated in the middle of the vineyards for beautiful views and a relaxed, enjoyable stay at Weaver Estate Wines.

The property is 3.5ha with plantings of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Muscat, first plantings were in 2005. All vineyard activites are by hand; pruning, canopy management, shoot & fruit thinning, and harvest. The vineyard and winery are operated under and fully certified by Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand. The winery, located on site, was newly established for the 2016 vintage. Our wines are all grown, produced, bottled and stored on site.
