Awesome wine. Ended up spending 80 bucks there. Loved the Merlot, best Merlot we had in the region out of 7 wineries visited. Also bought some of the sweet wine for my grandma. I usually hate that stuff but loved the taste of the stuff here. Owners are great and provide a real personal experience. I'd stop here again.

Good wine and wonderful people. We enjoy stopping here for tastings and buying local wine. My favorite is the sweet wine, good job on that one!

About Winery and Wines

Woof’n Rose makes only red wines from fruit grown in the Ramona Valley AVA, most of the fruit is estate grown on the premises. Varietals include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petite Verdot, Grenache Noir, and Alicante Bouschet, as well as proprietary blends comprised of these varietals. Many of these wines are medal award winners from wine competitions such as the Fingerlakes International, the San Francisco Chronicle, The Florida State Fair, and the Toast of the Coast (San Diego County Fair commercial competition). Medal positions are listed with the wines, excepting new releases which have not yet been in the competitions.

Woof’n Rose vineyards were first planted in 1995 with a small block of Merlot. Since then Cabernet Franc was added in 2003, Grenache Noir in 2004, Petit Verdot and Alicante Bouschet in 2009, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon in 2010, Montepulciano in 2013, and Carmenere will be added in 2015. The vineyards developed from what is called a landscaping project gone wrong, the first vines grew and the owners were hooked.
