Zambartas is a family-owned winery, now in its second generation. Run by Markos and Marleen Zambartas, the winery produces a range of wines from Cypriot and international vintages. Though young, Zambartas winery has won a range of prizes and acclaim. What impresses me is the long-term focus on quality by Markos and Marleen, and their desire to develop a winery that really illustrates Cyprus and its traditions.

We arrived around 4 pm unannounced and had difficulty in finding the entrance. We made the dogs bark which draw the attention of the winemaker, Marcos Zambartas. He took all time to show us around, explain the wine making process and let us taste his wines. The wines are fruity and not too heavy. His stock was almost sold out indicating that the demand exceeds his production.
It is advised to make a reservation since the place is difficult to find and to make sure there is someone to show you around.
