It all began with the purchase of a property around Castelluccio Amerino dominating the Valley of the Queens. Those lands were joined by others, until today’s extension of 400 hectares, 200 with forest, 80 planted with vineyards and 30 with olive trees. The property includes a Country resort, a restaurant, cattles and pigs breedings, hunting preservation, vegetables gardens. The sand/ clay soils of the hills on which the wines of Castello delle Regine grow have been studied carefully before the renewal of vineyards, which was realized in the early 90s. The exposure is north-south with a density of up to 5/6000 stocks per hectare. The culture of the vineyards follows sustainable agriculture rules with low environmental impact, using only natural fertilizers; 200 hectares of forests surrounding vineyards provide a micro-climate favorable to the perfect ripening of the grapes, with high temperature excursions between day and night. Amore e Passione di famiglia, da 4 generazioni L’Antica Cantina Leonardi nasce a Montefiascone nei primi anni del ‘900 dalla passione di un giovane imprenditore innamorato della sua terra e del vino. In un territorio da millenni vocato alla cultura vitinvinicola ed enologica, Domenico pianta le basi di quella che poi sarà la più storica e prestigiosa cantina del luogo, con una tradizione familiare arrivata alla quarta generazione e che ha visto l’avvicendarsi di tutti i cambiamenti enologici dell’ultimo secolo. Durante questo lungo periodo, ed anche oggi, due elementi fondamentali: La Passione ed il vino sempre presente, l’Est! Est!! Est!!!, dominano la scena. Una terra da millenni vocata alla viticoltura ed all’enologia Montefiascone, in provincia di Viterbo, si erge in cima al colle più alto dei Monti Volsini, sulla sponda sudorientale del Lago di Bolsena. A 600 m sul livello del mare, nelle terre dell’Alta Tuscia, tra Umbria e Toscana, Montefiascone si trova in una posizione strategica, che, sommata alla speciale conformazione del territorio, ha consentito a questa piccola realtà di affermarsi nella produzione enologica. L’origine vulcanica del Lago di Bolsena, il più grande in Europa di questa tipologia, ha infatti reso il territorio particolarmente fertile grazie alla presenza materiali di origine lavica. Fin dal Medioevo Montefiascone, collocato al km 100 lungo l’antico percorso della Via Francigena, si afferma come centro dalla grande importanza e attraversa periodi di grande splendore sotto il dominio papale. All’anno 1111 risale la leggenda di Defuk che ha reso celebre Montefiascone e il suo vino, l’Est! Est!! Est!!!

Il MUVIS “Museo del Vino e delle Scienze Agroalimentari” è uno dei più grandi musei nel suo genere d’Europa con 2000 m² di spazi espositivi, è situato nel cuore del borgo di Castiglione in Teverina, che fa parte della Associazione Nazionale “Città del Vino” Il museo è inserito all’interno del vasto ed articolato complesso produttivo dei Conti Vaselli ovvero nella grande cantina distribuita su 5 piani (1° piano, piano terra e 4 piani sotterranei), non più in uso da quasi 20 anni. Il percorso è una discesa nella collina alla scoperta della produzione vinicola “di ieri”. Si scende per 27 metri sino a raggiungere la “Cattedrale” (al -4) in cui è possibile ammirare gigantesche botti del diametro di tre metri. L’allestimento è mirato al pieno coinvolgimento ed “all’immersione” del visitatore attraverso le foto, video, racconti, strumenti, macchinari e gigantografie nel mondo di vino, dell’agroalimentare, di produzione vinicola e storia locale. Accanto alle tracce materiali ed immateriali del mondo contadino e delle vicende storiche ed umane delle Cantine Vaselli sono stati “messi in scena” con installazioni scenografiche, gli aspetti della produzione e della tradizione vinaria nel territorio della Teverina, accanto ai grandi temi di più ampio respiro culturale che il vino suggerisce.

It was 2003 when our dad falled in love and purchased an old farmhouse in Orte, finely restored, that would have to be a pleasure from the full and stressful working days. This was the starting point: in 2004, the agricultural company “Le Querce Antiche” was born, owned by us 4 sisters and in a short time we have annexed to the farm other land for an extension of more than 16 hectares. Supported by our father, deep and passionate lover of the oenological world, the project of making those land a productive reality comes to life: so “LE LASE WINERY” is born.

Caprigliano is located in the municipality of Corchiano, in the Alta Tuscia Viterbese area, and fully represents the importance of the history of this land, located as it is near an ancient Etruscan settlement, which extends within an area of significant archaeological interest. Founded in the early 1900s, it is still run with passion by the Amadio family, now in its fourth generation of winemakers. We cultivate the vines with full respect for tradition, the land and the territory, with an eye to the grape varieties that are best suited to the tufaceous terrain on which we find ourselves: among the reds, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, and the whites Malvasia del Lazio, Grechetto, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The cellar also houses a barrel cellar entirely dug out of the tuff, where the microclimate is optimal for maturing the wines in steel casks or oak barriques.

L'azienda nasce nel 1992 ma dal 2009 la gestione é totalmente affidata alle sorelle Maria Teresa e Laura Verdecchia che si occupano dell'intera filiera dalla produione alla commercializzazione. L'azienda oggi ha raggiunto importanti risultati essendo tra le migliori aziende italiane per la produzione di vini principalmente bianchi ed in particolare il Grechetto. Oggi la produzione raggiunge le 50.000 bottiglie che vengono vendute soprattutto al mercato italiano ed in piccola parte a quello estero. L'azienda é aperta a visite e degustazioni solamente su prenotazione.

We have been small, family-run organic producers (around 40,000 bottles/year) of both grapes and wine for 10 years. Our mission is to be an example of respect for the environment and health and to produce excellent wine at a price that is accessible to all. This last point is based on a principle of solidarity that recognizes the need for superior quality products for everyone and not just for a narrow elite. Our business It is made in a late eighteenth century cellar located in a disadvantaged area of ​​Vignanello which had been abandoned for decades and which has been restored to its former glory with great efforts for the benefit of us and the local community. Having an underground development, our cellar is naturally cold and this allows us not to use energy for cooling the wine vessels for the benefit of the environment and the final price of our wines. All production takes place exclusively in stainless steel and wood in order to generate the maximum possible hygiene and, at the same time, prevent any post-contamination from heavy metals and especially plastic derivatives.

Density without weight. A wine must reveal the quality of a place, and must reflect its vintage: grapes harvested when fully ripe, rigorously selected to remove those whose health and ripeness leave something to be desired, low yields per hectare, quality genetic material and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The grapes become a means to express the interaction between soil, microclimate and grower. Since 2007, we have been practising biodynamic agriculture, and our organic farming methods are ICEA certified: our vines are grown without the use of chemicals, in a soil nourished with green manure and sprayed with biodynamic preparations. Weed control and most of the processes in the vineyard are carried out by hand. The grapes are harvested by hand into small 20 kg crates, between the start of September for the earlier varieties and the end of October for the later varieties. The wine is fermented without the use of additives and bottled without filtering, with the addition of sulphur dioxide if required. It is aged from a minimum of 18 months for white wines and 3 – 4 years for the reds (between the wine cellar and the bottle). During vinification and aging in the wine cellar, we use neutral recipients with low porosity that can guarantee moderate contact with oxygen, in an attempt to emphasise the relationship between the vine and the land and to highlight the authentic nature of our wine, with no mediation between the grape and the bouquet formed. Although the wines share a number of fresh, clean, authentic characteristics, they differ from one harvest to the next; no two vintages are alike, and – just like people – each one has a different story to tell. Biodynamic agriculture allows us to preserve the earth, reducing intervention to a minimum with the aim of harvesting healthy grapes in perfect conditions for winemaking. We take care of the plants one by one, trying to allow them to develop the right defences to tackle adversity, and therefore treating each possible disease as the sign of a malaise that must be allowed to express itself through to its natural, logical departure, by integrating issues into the environment where they emerge. Observation is the key to keeping the vine healthy, guiding us in the difficult task of understanding its strengths and weaknesses in order to make the right decisions. Intervention is reduced to a minimum: dynamic preparations are used, and the vines are treated, only when necessary, with homeopathic quantities of copper and sulphur.
