Über das Weingut und die Weine
Parrina DOC wines are produced from 1971 in our basement, partially recovered from the original interiors of the nineteenth century and restored in perfect harmony with the environment, paying particular attention to modern organization of spaces and technology. The cellar is certainly a tribute to our land, because it is the instrument with which we produce quality wines that highlight the characteristics of these lands, but it is also the physical location in which we give the opportunity to our guests to come into direct contact with our production philosophy. We offers the opportunity to see how to make a wine, starting with the grape harvest, through the vinification and aging and ending with bottling.
Our vineyards are located on about 60 hectares of land: among the red labels we do produce the Sangiovese grape, one of the most popular Italian varietals, the Merlot, the Cabernet Sauvignon, the Petit Verdot, the Alicante and the Syrah. Among the white ones the Ansonica, king of the local white vineyards that has the D.O.C under the name "Ansonica Costa dell’Argentario”; the Vermentino, the Sauvignon Blanc, the Trebbiano and the Chardonnay. The production of DOC Parrina is located at the foot of a hilly area of Orbetello’s municipality and is characterized by two types of ground: sandy and sandy-loam. The vine cultivation, called “cordone speronato”, leaves a few buds on the plant that help to increase grapes’ sugar contents and aromatic compounds.
