Grand Vintage Wine Tour from Paris: Moet et Chandon & Veuve Clicquot Cellars & Tastings
Here is what's in store for you
07:30 – Pickup from your hotel. Departure to the Champagne region. The ride takes about 2 hours (140 km), and part of the route passes through the picturesque Champagne landscapes and vineyards. One stop at a rest area will be made.
10:00-12:00: Arrival in Épernay. Guided tour at Moët & Chandon, including the underground cellars and Champagne tastings. “Grand Vintage” Experience: Up to 10 people, 1.5 hours. Includes 2 glasses: Moët Grand Vintage Blanc, Moët Grand Vintage Rosé. Moët & Chandon is the largest Champagne producer. Every second, a bottle of Moët & Chandon Champagne is opened somewhere in the world.
12:00–13:30: Lunch in Épernay at a traditional French restaurant. Épernay is known as the Champagne Capital of France. Located along the Marne River and surrounded by vineyard hills, it is home to many of the region’s most prestigious Champagne houses. A walk along the Avenue de Champagne is a must for wine and Champagne lovers.
13:30: Departure for Hautvillers village. It takes 10 minutes (6 km).
13:40 – 14:10: Best viewpoint in Hautvillers.
13:40–14:10 Visit the Abbey Church of Saint Sindulphe of the Abbey Saint-Pierre d’Hautvillers, a former Benedictine monastery. The Abbey was founded in 665 and remained active until the French Revolution in 1789. Dom Pérignon contributed to the development of modern Champagne-making techniques here. Today, the village is home to 26 local Champagne producers.
14:00 – Stop at the panoramic viewpoint offering the best views over the vineyards and the Marne River.
14:10 Departure to Reims. It takes 30 minutes (28 km).
14:45–16:45: Visit to Veuve Clicquot. Founded in 1772, Veuve Clicquot now produces more than 22 million bottles of Champagne per year and is one of the region’s largest producers. A guided tour through the cellars, led by Veuve Clicquot staff, offers excellent insight into the House's history and the Champagne production method. Tour “Une Seule Qualité” Experience: 1,5 hours. Tasting of 4 cuvées: Brut Carte Jaune, Extra Brut Extra Old, Vintage 2015, and Vintage Rosé 2015.
16:45: Departure for Reims Cathedral. It takes 5 minutes (2 km).
17:00 – 17:30: Visit to the Reims Cathedral, where most French kings were crowned.
17:30 – Departure for Paris. It takes approximately 2.5 hours (144 km).
20:00 – Arrival in Paris. Drop off at your hotel.
