Every winery has a story to tell. A story made of families, generations, vocations. Therefore, the first wonderful thing the visitor do after his arrival is to know the persons behind the wine and those people who concreatly cultivate the land and make the wine. Our Verdicchio winemaking began in 1924 at the small town Staffolo (in greek means grapes bunch). We usually start from the vineyard, where the "raw material" - the grape - is made. The view from the terrace is breathtaking, opening to the San Vicino Mountain and to 30 hectar of Verdicchio. After the vineyards, we visit the cellar with stainless steel tanks for fermentation and winemaking and afterwards the bottling area with bottling machinery. In three steps the visitor becomes aware and takes familiarity with all the Verdicchio winemaking process. Then we move to the most exciting place of the winery...the barrique are! Silence, echo, smell of aging wine, arches and columns and of course oak barrique and tonneau used mainly for red wines. In here we stop also in front of "the wall". An uncovered wall show to visitor the sandy soil of marine origin, composed by sand and clay where the Verdicchio is planted. In barrique area we usually serve a welcome glass of Sparking Wine Verdicchio, before moving to the tasting room to relax and talk. The tasting is generally of 3/4 different wines (3 verdicchio + 1 red wine) that usually are decided in accordance with the visitors. Wine tasting is accompanied with local products like home made cold cuts, pecorino cheese from Staffolo, bread with our extra virgin olive oil, pizza, season vegetables.
