The Gracianna Winery story pays tribute to the Amador Family’s maternal grandmother, Gracianna Lasaga. Born in the French Basque Pyrenees, Gracianna emigrated to the United States as a young woman. The hardworking and beautiful Gracianna and her beloved husband John raised thousands of sheep in Santa Barbara County after settling in Santa Maria, California. Money was tight especially the months before slaughter. As practiced for centuries by European sheepherders, John would offer “chits” in the form of coins good for a certain number of sheep as an IOU to pay for goods and mercantile—to hold them over until the herd was sold off.

As a pioneering producer and winegrower of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, DeLoach Vineyards has been experimenting with and perfecting the best combinations of soil, rootstock and clones for over three decades. In 2003, the Boisset family brought two generations of sustainable winemaking experience from Burgundy, France to California’s Russian River Valley and pulled up the estate vineyards that had just produced Wine Enthusiast magazine’s 2004 wine of the year: DeLoach Vineyards’ 30th Anniversary Cuvée Pinot Noir. The award-winning vineyards were replanted with cover crops in order to revitalize the soil and in the meantime, DeLoach partnered with winegrowers equally dedicated to and passionate about eco-friendly farming practices and the production of high-quality wines. Wine & Spirits magazine named DeLoach Vineyards a Top 100 Winery for the twelfth time in the winery’s history in 2012.

Our founder Gary Farrell was a passionate believer in great vineyards. Long before the Russian River Valley made its mark on the world stage, Gary was out exploring vineyards in the early 1980s to identify grapes from the most promising sites in the valley. With an uncannily prophetic eye to the future, the first wine he produced under the Gary Farrell label was a 1982 Pinot Noir sourced from what would eventually become two of the Russian River Valley’s premier vineyards: Rochioli and Allen. Planted just up the road from where he would build his winery, these sites are adjacent to each other on Westside Road and have been meticulously farmed by Joe Rochioli, Jr. for more than 40 years. The success of our wines comes down to relationships like the one we enjoy with Joe and his family. We are committed to maintaining the strong, long-term partnerships we’ve established with the owners of the iconic Russian River Valley vineyards that form the heart of our wine portfolio, including Westside Farms, Rochioli, Allen, Stiling, Hallberg and more.

Our beautiful estate vineyard is located on Eastside Road in Forestville, California, in the heart of the Russian River Valley. It’s 8.5 acres with 4.5 acres planted to Russian River Pinot Noir. Current clones are 667, 777, Pisoni, 882 and Pommard 5. Soil is Laniger Loam. Average slope is 5% located 88.76 ft above sea level. We have no physical neighbors allowing us to enjoy endless vineyard views. Over the years the property has been a cow dairy farm, private 8-hole golf course, and became a vineyard in 2007. Cecilia currently lives on the property with her two dogs, Tyler & Riley, and her Chinchilla, Louie. The family hopes to turn the 5000 sqft red barn into a production and tasting room facility in the near future. The property also contains an old “milk barn” building that has been converted into a luxurious two bedroom vacation rental. The estate encompasses quintessential wine country: rustic, charm and tranquility while enjoying today’s modern amenities and close proximity to downtown Healdsburg.

On a spring day in 1972, while piloting his plane over the Russian River, Chalk Hill’s founder, Fred Furth, caught his first view of a natural amphitheatre carved into the hills of eastern Sonoma. His intuition told him the land had the potential to support a world-class vineyard. A subsequent tour confirmed that the spectacular property indeed had the climate and soils to grow luxury-class wine grapes.

One of California’s oldest and most renowned wineries, Geyser Peak Winery was founded in 1880 by Augustus Quitzow, a pioneer in Alexander Valley winemaking, Geyser Peak has flourished as an award-winning winery for more than 130 years. Quitzow chose the original winery site in Geyserville for its vantage point of the famed Geysers Geothermal area. The white steam that billowed from the geysers along the mountain slopes provided the winery with a spectacular ‘view of the clouds’. Today, Geyser Peak pays fond tribute to its past roots in Alexander Valley as it sets forth on a new path into the Dry Creek Valley Appellation where the winery has recently relocated. Although the address is new, the commitment to the highest quality artisan winemaking is not. Geyser Peak will continue to “Reach For Peak” for many years to come.

The philosophy of Emeritus Vineyards is influenced by our founding winemaker, McDonald “Don” Blackburn. Don, born in Virginia, studied and worked in Burgundy for many years before returning to the United States. He believed that when Pinot Noir achieves its highest expression, there is no wine that can compare with it. Don observed that, historically, a disproportionately high number of the greatest wines have been Pinot Noir.

Jordan Estate is nestled in the Alexander Valley of Sonoma County, where the iconic Jordan Winery Chateau overlooks nearly 1,200 acres of rolling hills and vineyards dedicated to agriculture, hospitality and conservation. Unique amongst Healdsburg wineries, more than three-quarters of the scenic estate has been preserved as natural habitat—an oasis where craggy oak trees pepper the landscape, geese and ducks swim the lakes, and rabbits and turkeys roam the hills. The property includes 112 acres of grapevines, 18 acres of olive trees, a one-acre garden, two lakes and several grazing pastures. The diversity of ecosystems on the estate encourages beneficial insects and other predators that support our sustainable farming practices. Second-generation vintner John Jordan continues to preserve the great ecological richness of this property and share its breathtaking vistas through hospitality. He has returned cattle ranching to the estate, invited conservationists to study resident and migratory birds, and appointed arborists to care for mature trees that have towered over the estate for hundreds of years. Numerous sustainability certifications have also been achieved.
