Cantina e Vini

This winery was bought by the Rabino in 1907. The estate was a property of the Savoy royal family. The Rabino’ s ancestors have always cultivated the land until during the 1940 they started to produce wine. The name “Fratelli Rabino” was given by Tommaso and Vincenzo Rabino, precisely brothers. Now, the company has managed by Tommaso’s son Andrea, oenologist, his wife Annalisa and their daughters Francesca, Chiara and Agnese. The winery is located in the Roero, an area geologically younger than Langhe, with tortuous land crossed by a series of small canyons that present an extraordinary landscape. The winery is composed of 22 hectares of vineyards and the annual production is about 150 000 bottles. The winery is composed by different area for vinification, aging and sell. The red wine is aged in big barrel of oak from Slavonia. The white wine instead is produced in steel tanks. In the company are produced four kind of withe wine. Two still wines: Roero Arneis Docg and Langhe Favorita Doc, one sparkling sweet wine: Moscato d’Asti Docg and one sparkling dry wine: Spumante brut Censo. The rosè wine is called Porporino and is made from Nebbiolo's grape. The red wines produced are Barbera d’Alba Doc, Nebbiolo d’Alba Doc and Roero Docg. All wine are very tipical for the Roero region.

Langhe Favorita Doc. The name of this wine evokes privilege. The wine’s pale, straw yellow colour is matched by a delicate fragrance of rennet apples, while its agreeable flavor has an almondy persistence. A wine of striking simplicity. Roero Arneis Docg. Arneis is a word in the local dialect used to describe a likeable, roguish character. The wine is straw-yellow, with a delicate nose of pears and a pleasantly dry, lasting taste. Excellent as an aperitif, it is at its best with deserts and grand cuisine. Spumante brut Censo. The Censo is a new wine very simple to drink. Is a enjoy wine to drink as apertive. Is made from Arneis and Favorita's grape. Porporino is a rosé wine. This wine is made from Nebbiolo grapes. The wort stay on the skins only some hours. So there isn't the total extraction of the tannins, the colour is lighter and the alcol is about 13 degrees Barbera d’Alba Doc. This very bright red wine with purple and violet tinges has a vinous, cherry-like nose; its full flavor and acidity make it fresh and inviting and provide it with good keeping qualities. Nebbiolo d’Alba Doc. A dry, ruby-red wine of great structure with flavours of strawberries and liquorice. Its intense, ethereal bouquet reveals fine sensations of roses and underwood. Roero Docg. Is the older red wine. Is made from Nebbiolo’s grape, and stay 20 months in the barrel. Roero is good with important food. The perfume is intense and delicate and the taste of strawberry and cherry frui
