"Cantine Belisario" was started in 1971. Today, it is a company with 300 hectares planted with grape vines, and a wine cellar with a capacity of 30,000 hectolitres. It is the largest producer of Verdicchio di Matelica D.O.C. All of the vineyards, located in the Alta Valle Esina, are within 10 minutes from the cellar. The company produces two brands: “BELISARIO” destined to restaurants and wine shops, and “POGGIO alle RONDINI” for large distribution. The Alta Valle Esina marks the difference in the taste of our wines: the difference in temperature is that of continental climates, while the sunshine is typically Mediterranean (43° N). This microclimate favors a large concentration of aromas, the full preservation of the wine’s acidity, a physiologically limited production and a full, complete -sometimes extreme- maturation. Our Verdicchio wines are typical because the system is unique and non-reproducible: this is our value, our pride and our greatest responsibility: to be a style, not a fad.
