Cantina e Vini

We definitely come from the land, as direct succession. The legacy with the countryside background got from the “Grannies”, those to whom the project is dedicated too.

Marta found “Dei Agre” back in the 2001 and now she leads the company in a period when the attention for the requalification of the rural environments and the land around. Lots of patience, love and a pinch of bizarre trials to improve the organic composition of the soil, because it is in the ground that the roots will absorb the primary nutrients that the plant uses to feed his fruit.

we are in Felline.

A little village right at the end of the “Heel of Italy”, in the heart of Salento, piece of land that splits the Adriatic Sea by the Jonio Sea. Just 5km away from the Ionic Sea.

Due to the plain landscape, the solar irradiance is almost uniform during the full day.

The production of NegroAmaro and Primitvo wines all around the Salento area is now a common experience, but winemakers will always have a slight different product because of the changes in soils and plants. Our wines have a nerve and reticences like the grow of the plant. Our wines are bucket and with hard hedges, copying the smooth and jagged shapes of the ionic arch coastline. Some of Marta’s agronomical choices are actually some “cru”.

Just those vines storically compatible with our territory patterns are cultivated: Negroamaro and Primitivo, vines with personality as the soil which feed their plants. We in fact keep and we safeguard the cultivation using the pugliese small tree vine.

We aim to improve the self defence of the plants throughout the soil regeneration process and the biodiversity of the surrounding spaces. what we always put in place is the symbiosis of biology, with a  synergetic approach, the bio-dynamic and an organic - regenerative solutions. All these factors gather towards an all-around balance, and this is also a life style.

Marta is there in any single step of her wines making process, in first line during the prune of the vines, looking after the soil all year long, holding on for the new buds, overcoming without damage the summer ‘thirst’ and then it is already time for harvesting.

In all these phases she is well supported by her collaborators.

On the land, both women and men are always working hard with three extremely precious partners: the original grass which cover the surface, the little animals which like to dig around and the micro-organisms that process all the materials in the ground.

The organic cultivation is certified.

The raw wine-making is a shard certified process.

The grapes are harvested by hands, boxed and shipped in the cellars, where they are selected and pressed. The fermentation starts spontaneously; following a slow maceration starts on the skins. The first diversion, together with first autumn cool temperatures prepare the wine for the long resting till the bottling happens.

A regular small testing of the products will help to grant its evolution

Hi everybody, I will introduce myself: I am Dei Agre.

I have a soul, the Salento. And I got a fan: Marta

The origins of my name come from Marta’s granparents, the rythm of of my accents is from the tambourine sound, the taste of my letters has the saltiness that arrives on the salento’s coasts.

I am dedicated to the vine, I harvest the grapes and I try to make an excellent wine, for sure a genuine one.

If you are looking for a “drink” harvested in september and ready for february then my wines are not good for you.

The Racimolo and the Lunatico are ready just after two full years from their grapes harvest. The Magrede’, then, will wait for longer, after its sharpner in the big tonneax. Its charming characteristic is the uncertainity of been ready every year; if the season was not good it will happily remain inside the “chrysalis” of the Racimolo.

Also the rose’, even thou it is unripe maturation, knows hot to face the years passing by keeping a lively Amaranto.

At this point it is necessary the presentation of my jewels.

Racimolo is a NegroAmaro that taste of spices of the “Mediterranean scrub”.

The sweet wild berries and the slightly bitter asparagus mark the conflicts of the Lunatico Primitivo.

The nerve of the first and the colour of the second paint the nuances of the Amaranto rose.

Magrede’ is the synthesis of the perfect work from Mother Nature.

Try them, you will love them at the first sip! If they will not conquer you I will not be there to try to make you change mind.

Together with my supporter Marta I am working hard to make them go far, and if you can not find them, please gift yourself a trip down here in the Salento.

Enjoy Life!
