Domus Hortae è l’azienda di famiglia Fioretti impegnata da sempre nella coltivazione di vigneti, che cura con massima dedizione e passione sin dal 1788, valorizzandone le proprie produzioni. L’amore per la terra della famiglia Fioretti ha radici lontane. Alcuni antichi documenti di famiglia, confermati poi dai registri dell’Archivio Diocesano, identificherebberoin Matteo Fioretti il primo avo Fioretti, approdato, nel 1788, nell’agro di Orta Nova, precisamente a Grassano delle Fosse, così come intitolato oggi nelle liste del catasto, per lavorare la terra. Passo di Grassano, così appellato sulle carte storiche, è una delle contrade adiacenti alla Locatione d’Horta : contrade tra loro collegate da camminamenti sotterranei che conducono sino al centro abitato, proprio dove era ubicata la Domus di Federico II. Al di sopra di tali corridoi sono impiantati i vigneti di famiglia.

In the heart of this land, even today, the Fioretti family, with a modern entrepreneurial spirit, enriches the company with specific technical skills in the cultivation and management of the vine, embellishing what the ancient tradition of a family has left as a passion. The “ortese” farmland is characterized by a very heterogeneous and diversifiedsoil in the various zones that identify it and by a microclimate that gives strong temperature excursions between night and day. The combination of all these factors make possible that this microenvironment gives the vineyards, of this wonderful land of the Tavoliere, peculiar characteristics. Surrounded by mountains and seas, they are able to produce grapes whose wines will have aromatic complexity, an important supply of alcohol and a consistent body.
