Cantina e Vini

The Alain Littière Champagne house belongs to the oldest winemaking family in Oeuilly. The Champagne house dates back to 1642 and belonged to the great-grandparents of the latter. Mr Alain Littière, with a friend who was passionate about the Champagne region's heritage, had the idea of saving this family home by creating an ecomuseum. Following the death of his father in 2010, Sébastien now manages the vinification of all ALAIN LITTIERE Champagnes.

Situated in the west of Epernay, in the heart of the Marne valley, the terroir at Champagne Alain Littière is composed of two prestigious winemaking areas. - Ay Champagne for Pinot Noir - The Marne valley for both Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay The carefully planted vineyards lie in two of the Marne's most beautiful winemaking regions. Alain Littière Champagnes are produced using the following ratio of grape varieties: - 50% Pinot Noir from three quarters of the communes of Ay, Mareuil sur Ay and Avenay Val d'Or - 30% Pinot Meunier from the Marne valley - 20% Chardonnay from the Marne valley and Ay. Traditional harvesting practices are used at our Champagne house. Harvesting is carried out by our close team of grape pickers who receive board and lodgings at the domaine. Using a regular team of grape pickers ensures high quality work and optimum results when sorting the grapes in difficult vintages, for example.
