La Marenna Wine Tasting in the heart of Salento at Feudi di Guagnano
Here is what's in store for you
Feudi di Guagnano welcomes you to their winery for their Marenna tasting experience. The Salento word “Marenna”, which comes from the old Neapolitan dialect, means afternoon snack. The origin of its name is connected to the sea and to the mariners, as one of the main ingredients of “la Marenna” was anchovies cured in brine, often paired with durum wheat bread, tomatoes, vegetables, olive oil and oregano.
This wine experience takes place in the barrel cellar of Feudi di Guagnano and includes a tasting of four wines, among them Rosarò Rosato Salice Salentino Negroamaro DOP, DieciAnni Negroamaro Salento IGP, and DieciAnni Malvasia Nera Salento IGP. The tasting is paired with a Marenna, a traditional Apulian snack prepared according to the season and the availability of fresh local ingredients.
During the tasting, you will be given an explanation of the cultivation and vinification methods of the wines you'll get to taste. The experience will be enriched with anecdotes, stories, and curiosities, such as the one on Leonardo da Vinci’s “cask-filler”.
