The Portuguese Wine Discovery workshop is designed to introduce you to the diversity and character of Portuguese wines. Whether you’re a curious expat or a traveling wine lover, this experience will help you decode the complexities of local varieties such as Arinto, Touriga Nacional, and Antão Vaz, by comparing them with international grapes like Chardonnay or Syrah. You’ll also explore key wine regions including the Douro, Alentejo, Dão, and Lisboa, gaining insights into what makes each one unique.
The session is led by a professional wine teacher with over twelve years of experience in guiding groups through the world of wine. With more than fifteen years of wine education experience overall, we know how to perfectly balance learning with the pleasure of tasting. No prior wine knowledge is required—just a genuine love for wine.
The tasting includes seven carefully selected wines from different Portuguese regions, accompanied by delicious bites provided by our location in Cascais, the House of Wonders. Participants will also receive handouts to keep as a reference for future tastings.
This experience is ideal for expats, tourists, and locals alike—anyone who enjoys wine and wants to learn more in a friendly, English-speaking environment. Even our Portuguese guests often say they discover something new. You can join individually on Saturday afternoons or request a private group session at your convenience.
