Private Barolo Tasting & Food Pairing at Diego Pressenda in Monforte d'Alba
Here is what's in store for you
Your private tour at the Diego Pressenda winery begins in the hills of Monforte d'Alba, where the estate's hospitality manager will welcome you. They will introduce you to the Pressenda family's history and their approach to winemaking in the Langhe.
The visit starts in the fermentation room, where you'll learn about the processes inside the steel tanks, before moving through the bottling, labeling, and storage areas. The tour then continues underground to the Barricaia, the aging cellar, where the wines mature in French oak barrels and barriques. From the cellar, a short guided walk through the vineyard leads you to the panoramic tasting room.
Here, overlooking the hills of Monforte d'Alba, your tasting begins. You will sample three of the winery's single-vineyard Barolo DOCG red wines: Barbadelchi, Bricco San Pietro, and Coste di Monforte. The wines are served with a platter of local products, including two types of cheese—a soft cow's milk cheese and a flavorful tuma—salami, coppa, traditional grissini, and Piemonte hazelnuts.
