Barrel-Aged Wine Tasting & Winery Tour at Corte Fornello in Valeggio sul Mincio
Here is what's in store for you
At Corte Fornello, located near Lake Garda, a member of the Venturelli family will welcome you to their estate. The experience begins with a tour that takes you from the vineyards into the winery, offering a direct look at their production philosophy.
You will visit the winemaking cellar and the bottling area before descending into the historic 18th-century barrel cellar, where the estate's finest wines are aged. The tour provides a complete overview of the process, from grape to bottle.
The visit continues with a guided tasting of three barrel-aged wines:
- A Custoza Superiore DOC white, made from the traditional Custoza grape blend, offering a fuller interpretation of this local Garda-area style
- A Bardolino Superiore DOCG red, which brings a more structured red expression of Bardolino
- The 'Il David' Rosso IGT Verona red, a Corvina Veronese red aged for two years in medium-sized casks, with a rounder, deeper character.
Each wine is paired with a platter of local products, including coppa, salami, pancetta, and three distinct cheeses: Monte Custoza, Ubriacone, and Grana Padano.
Depending on the weather, the tasting is held either in the estate's courtyard or in a dedicated indoor tasting room, ensuring a comfortable setting for your experience.
