Here is what's in store for you
This tour of Madrid's wineries in the Tagus River Valley gives you the opportunity to learn about Spain’s Golden Century, but also about old and modern winemaking in the region and in Spain in general while discovering the medieval and Renaissance architecture that can be found in the countryside. During this tour, which lasts approximately 6 hours, you'll visit 3 different wineries located in the countryside of Madrid and taste a minimum of 10 wines.
After meeting your guide at the meeting point, you will hop on a minivan or private bus and head towards the first winery, while your guide will share with you information and anecdotes about the Madrid wine region. The approximate duration of the trip to the first winery is 45 minutes. You will then find yourself in the picturesque countryside of Madrid, home to various wineries that blend tradition and innovation. Clay vats, centennial caves, and the Tempranillo and Malvar grapes will be the main protagonists of this tour. You will visit three wineries in medieval towns, learn about winemaking and wine drinking history, and taste multiple wines in each winery, accompanied by the winemakers.
Although lunch is not included in the price, for lunchtime you can choose among several options in the area. Your tour guide will suggest the best places according to your preferences and budget. During the wine tastings, you will be offered some local delicacies such as cheese, bread and olive oil, and chorizo. The snacks provided by the wineries will be enough for a light lunch.
