About Winery and Wines

The wine production LasteRosse, luing within the bond of Romallo, tells our family’s story. We are country folk, tied to our land and its products and we belive in diversified wine production and in bringing back an ancient wine in our Non Valley. Once, in this valley everyone had a piece of wine-producing land and all drank “Gropel”. In the last few years some farmers have decided to bring back, replanting these vines. The wine is special, production is limited. We produce wine in a beautiful landscape, hilly and rocky. We are in the mountain, everything is done by hand, not an easy process here. What satisfaction to drink it, knowing that it is all made here.

The vines are to be found in the village of Romallo height 650-700 above sea level. The hilly terrain is made up of red rock typical of this place and enjoys a good deal of sun. The vines cultivated here are Groppello of Revò and Aromatic Traminer (white). The form of cultivation is Guyot, production is around 60-70 q.li/Ha and the companies terrain covers 0,70 Ha. Picking comes late on and wine-producing with the traditional method of casks of stainless steel. For Revò’s Groppello vinification takes place by squasing the peel with frequent daily pressing during fermentations. The process goes in oak vats for at least 12 months and goes on in the bottle for 7-8 months before going on to the market.
