Italian Wine Union, Chamber of Commerce and Consortium of Vino Nobile of Montepulciano are certification bodies for the high quality of our wines, which are subject to strict checks until the time of bottling. The annual production of Terra Antica will reach more than 200.000 bottles, divided in Rosso, Nobile, Riserva, different whites and our rose. New grapes have been planted and we are looking forward to surprise market very soon. Terra Antica uses organic and sustainable farming practices that ensure minimal environmental impact. Two hectares of our land, are dedicated to the cultivation of native olives, Frantoio, Moraiolo and Leccino. In November, the best olives are rigorously hand-picked and prompt brought under strict control to the mill so that they maintain all their properties. This allows us to trace the batches of the productions. The olives are strictly cold-pressed to produce our exquisite extra virgin organic olive oil, the superior quality of which is measured according to the sensory parameters set by the European Community. Olive oil produced by Terra Antica Winery is not a blend it is a pure organic product without any traces agrochemicals.

We are a young company born from the passion of two brothers for agriculture and viticulture. We started in 2003 with the recovery of abandoned terraces in Granaro di Ceramida, a small hamlet of Bagnara Calabra (RC) overlooking the splendid Costa Viola. We have started a project for the production of wines from native vines: Zibibbo and Calabrese Nero in particular. Recently we have experimented with some international varieties: Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition to our children, family members, and many childhood friends who have become involved in the project, they too are in love with this land. The vinification cellar is located in a small room in the old village of Ceramida, where the equipment for vinification has been placed, which is done with traditional and artisanal techniques. We do not use barrels or barriques for aging, but everything is done in steel vats.

Il Dosso di Archetti Luca
(Winery in Italy)

4.89 (184 Reviews)
Provides 3 wine tastings and winery visit from €35.00
Luca Archetti founded Azienda Agricola Il Dosso in 1997 realizing the dream of his father Augusto, who died in 1990. Luca is permeated by the idea of an indissoluble relationship which must link the land to its fruits, that is Franciacorta to its wines. He does not understand, therefore, the attempts of the local viticulture to emulate the French, as for bubbles, or the Tuscans for reds. His inspiring thought is to refuse "corrections" in the cellar, as opposed to an almost maniacal care of the vineyard: the "terroir" must be freely expressed and must identify the wine, far from being homogeneous to hundreds of other products equal to themselves until boredom, whose main characteristic is to be sellable. Archetti will probably never become rich with this activity, but he certainly has a precise identity in the Franciacorta wine production that much bigger companies may have difficulty in finding. Six hectares of vineyards, for a potential annual production of 30,000 bottles. In the land of bubbles, Archetti without any qualms has chosen to privilege red wines, which make up more than three quarters of the wines produced. On the other hand the available vineyards, both for the exposure and for the mineral composition, are particularly suited for red grapes.
