Cantine Sant'Agata
About the Winery
For over 50 years, the Cavallero family has been dedicated to producing estate-grown wines that capture the true essence of the Monferrato Astigiano, a region renowned for its noble Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Ruchè vines. Located northeast of the historic Roman city of Asti, Cantine Sant'Agata embodies the rich viticultural heritage of this area. The winery, recently refurbished in March 2023, offers a modern and welcoming space where visitors can explore the winemaking process and enjoy curated tasting experiences. At Cantine Sant'Agata, tradition meets innovation, and every bottle is a reflection of the family’s deep commitment to quality and the unique character of their land.
About the Wines
Cantine Sant'Agata's diverse portfolio showcases the finest expressions of the Monferrato Astigiano terroir. Among the highlights are four distinct Ruchè wines: two classic varieties, Na Vota and Il Cavaliere, and two Riserva selections, ProNobis and Genesi. The winery also produces two Barolo wines (Gold and White labels), a Nebbiolo, a Barbera d'Asti, and two Barbera d'Asti Superiore, each offering a unique take on these traditional Piedmontese grapes. For those who prefer white wines, the Gavi di Gavi stands out, along with a refreshing Rosé from Piedmont. In addition to their wines, Cantine Sant'Agata also crafts a range of spirits, including Gin, Rum, Amaro, Vermouth, and Bitteranza, each infused with the same passion and expertise that define their wines.

Great Experience
There weren't any breadsticks, but they weren't relevant for the tasting anyway.
The vermouth was a great finish!
Pleasant experience
Recommended for everyone, for beginners and the more experienced alike.
Ruchè Tasting
An expert in the field (Federica) who, in addition to illustrating the company's processes (always fascinating), manages to give you that extra spark of interest thanks to the passion that guides her on her path and that she manages to transmit, especially in the tasting.
A winery that manages to maintain the tradition of its harvest but is not afraid to dare, always seeking new flavors and new techniques for wine aging that can always amaze its consumers.
A good positioning in the territory, thanks to which it manages to enhance the product that the land offers, taking it even beyond the Alps and not only in Europe, characterizing the Italian virtuosity in producing wine.
