About Winery and Wines

Caprigliano is located in the municipality of Corchiano, in the Alta Tuscia Viterbese area, and fully represents the importance of the history of this land, located as it is near an ancient Etruscan settlement, which extends within an area of significant archaeological interest. Founded in the early 1900s, it is still run with passion by the Amadio family, now in its fourth generation of winemakers. We cultivate the vines with full respect for tradition, the land and the territory, with an eye to the grape varieties that are best suited to the tufaceous terrain on which we find ourselves: among the reds, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, and the whites Malvasia del Lazio, Grechetto, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The cellar also houses a barrel cellar entirely dug out of the tuff, where the microclimate is optimal for maturing the wines in steel casks or oak barriques.

We cultivate our vineyards on a predominantly tufaceous soil rich in minerals, which enrich our wines with characteristic scents. In our 13 hectares of vineyards, international vines alternate with indigenous ones and are cultivated with the utmost respect for the land that hosts us.
