Château Coujan
About the Winery
Château Coujan is a family business driven by two key words: biodiversity and elegance. Florence took over the leadership at the end of the 80s and brought her delicate touch to the estate and products. It was in 2008 that she began to cultivate the land organically. This year, her daughter, Kenza, is joining the team! As the 6th generation, Kenza is ready to face any challenges!
About the Wines
All the vines are located on the estate: is it a plus to be truly organic? Olive trees, aromatic plants, bee hives, and vines make this estate a unique place. The estate's wines benefit from a rare freshness due to its island of fossilized corals. Perforated and draining limestone rocks keep the soil rich and humid.
Château Coujan's wines are produced under the appellations Saint Chinian, Côteaux de Murviel, or Vin de France. We cultivate several grapes, which are typical of the area: Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache noir, and Cinsault for the red; Rolle, Roussanne, and Grenache blanc for the white. We also have some Pinot Noir, Sauvignon blanc, and a little bit of Muscat!
